Mission & Approach

Hi, I’m so glad you’re here. I know that starting therapy — and finding the right counsellor — can often feel overwhelming. I hope to be able to share with you a bit about who I am and how I approach counselling.

When I meet a new client, my priority is to build a foundation of trust and safety together by using a trauma-informed lens, which includes moving at a pace that feels right for you. I am here to meet you where you’re at, wherever that might be, and to offer a space that feels warm, supportive, and client-centered. I truly believe that counselling is a collaborative process; together, we shape our work in a way that best supports your goals, needs, and values.

My approach draws from several therapeutic modalities, including Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and attachment theory and parts work. I also believe it’s essential to consider how identity, power, and social context shape our lived experiences. Therefore, I recognize and consider the ways that my context and background shape how I enter the counselling space, and I also deeply value the identities and perspectives that clients bring into the room. I always aim to create a space where all parts of who you are feel seen, heard, and respected.

In counselling, I have experience supporting children, youth, and adults of all ages. I often work with clients who are navigating anxiety, stress, and grief, those who are learning to hold themselves with compassion, and those who are learning to understand and connect with their emotions. Across all ages and presenting concerns, my focus is on creating a genuine connection and collaboratively creating goals that feel meaningful to you.

Outside of counselling, I also teach in the public school system. In my own time, you’ll often find me in the forest or mountains, making art, or relaxing with a good (binge-worthy) TV show — I’m always open to recommendations.

My commitment to you is to show up in our sessions however you need - you know yourself best. I hold deep respect for anyone who steps into a counselling space. While I may not be able to directly influence external stressors that may impact your life, know that you are never alone; I will walk with you every step of the way to listen, explore, laugh, and learn alongside you. It is not an easy thing to share openly with another person, and I don’t take that for granted. If you’re curious about what working together might look like, feel free to connect with me and I would love to speak with you.
